Origins

Kei Shōten began with a fascination for small, utilitarian vehicles and the culture built around them. Japanese kei trucks, designed to be efficient, durable, and purpose-driven, represented a kind of honesty that felt increasingly rare—machines built to work, not to impress.

What started as an appreciation for Japanese automotive design evolved into a desire to create goods that carried the same mindset: functional, understated, and built for daily use. Rather than chasing trends or loud graphics, Kei Shōten focuses on quiet details—things that make sense once you understand where they come from.

Built around a real kei truck as a mobile storefront, Kei Shōten exists at the intersection of movement and utility. It’s not about nostalgia or novelty—it’s about creating practical goods with intention, meant to be used, carried, and lived with.
